As someone who’s in an earlier stage of book-making—the omg publisher deadlines phase—it totally makes sense that you’d feel anxious and omg how super duper exciting!!!

I love April 7-11 sketchbook page. I’m sure you don’t find that a surprise 😀 thank you for all of your feelings and vulnerability. Your book is wonderful and I know will be a huge success. I always remember what my publicist at 10 Speed told me when Draw Your Day came out. She told me that books have a life of their own, each totally unique. A lot of it is sitting back and watching and waiting to see what happens. It took over a year for the book to appear in the shops and museums I dreamed it would be! Happy to hold your hand because I know the waves of emotions!

I am so grateful for you, Samantha!!!! I love that sentiment — feels like a very bizarre facet of parenting... like, the book is no longer in my control, but I can encourage her along. I am gripping on your hand so tightly!!! And Draw Your Day is perfect, so it really helps to hear about its twisty journey <3

The comparison to parenting is so, so true. Your book baby is about to be released into the world, and that is loaded with ALL the bittersweet feelings!

I voted! Thanks for the shoutout and for drawing with us! I love your delightful dogs in sweaters! Is it still sweater weather in Seattle? Because I'm in TN and still sitting on a heated throw. (I'm also a huge baby about being cold.)

It'll be sweater weather on and off until June! A heated throw sounds perfect — I might need to get myself one!
