Our 8 month labradoodle, Ollie, answers to Stinky, Bonky, Miss Bonk, Bonkerton, Binky, Binkilini, and any other variation of Stink/Bonk/Bink. She does not, however, answer to Ollie or come.
I can't add a photo, but my little terrier mix Gidget McFidget has a multitude of names. She is 15 years old so we've had a long time to make up names.
Gidget
Gidgie Pidgie
Pidgie Poo
Pigeon
Pigeon Poop
Poop
She seems to be aware of the indignity of this evolution and gives me the stink eye when I call her "Poop-poop."
This is my favorite post from you of all time and not just because it's about dogs. It's just brilliant and so full of love! And I do love how you've drawn these dogs so freaking much!
We have a golden retriever named Betty but for some unknown reason we started calling her “Betty Bobbins”, often shortened to Bobbins. Our two year old started calling her “Boopsy Bobbins” so now she is often just called Boopsy! Why?!
We're too lazy for dogs but our cats are Cleo (can only be lengthened to Cleodora, obv) and Joseph, who is (boringly) Jojo, Joey, and (more interestingly) Joba-lo. PS, I love your stuff!
Indeed. My beloved pittie mix Kira has so many names: Monkey, Little Wiggles, Lady Wiggleton, Shenanigans, Shanaynay, Sweet Little Angel Baby, The Baby, Lady Pibbleton, Pretty Pittikins, The Greatest Dog (which I sing to her to the tune of The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman), Pipi (pronounced PeePee) Gonzalez, Kiki Montgomery, Peep... I'm sure there are more, lol!
Our almost 2-year old mini schnauzer / dachshund mix has silly last names because he's already got a goofy first name loll.
Frank Mulligan because he never gets it right on the first try.
Frank the Sun Potato because all he wants to do is sun bathe.
and Frank Hamilton because he's young, scrappy, and hungry.
Sun Potato is so darling!
they are so cute 😭

These are darling. And thank you!
Bowie, Henry, and Ziggy are adorable! Thanks for sharing!
For some reason, my wife and I started calling our cat, Barbara O. Sworts.
Her given name is Carmella, though, so I have no idea where Barbara came from.
We then shortened Barbara O. Sworts, to Babs Sworts, because why not.
Humans are weird.
I need to see a photo of this cat!
I don't think I can post one here, but I'll post one in Notes and try to tag you there!
