Hi!
We’re more than halfway through May and I have yet to send out a newsletter about Mental Health Awareness Month — how dare I!
To celebrate, I’m compiling my favorite comics about anxiety and mental health. I hope you enjoy and/or bookmark this newsletter for when you need a gentle pick-me–up most.
And Now For Some Recommendations:
In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I wanted to highlight some awesome AAPI artists that I looooove:
Courtney Ahn’s bright designs + activism
Zoe Cain’s affirming illustrated storytelling (I loooved this recent one)
Jennifer Xiao’s famous cheese puff tiger (which I have as a croc jibbit!), plus lots of other incredible art
Zoe Si’s comics (which have been nominated for a PULITZER PRIZE, people!!!)
Nikita Ares’ paintings (my definition of success is owning one of her pieces)
Ruth Chan’s illustrations (often found in the sweetest children’s books!)
Lin Yung Cheng’s photographs, which are mind-boggling (see for yourself)
Sonaksha Iyengar’s illustrations and designs — their work is truly poetic
Jeremy Nguyen’s comics (so clever and relatable)
Have a wonderful, restful day!
The last one :’) one of my all-time favorites
