Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Such a sweet story about intergenerational community, family (both blood and chosen), and unlikely friendships (read: the cutest octopus ever).
Even though my friends make fun of me for my love of watching pro swimming, I must note how much I enjoyed watching the World Championships in Fukuoka last week — particularly this swim from Léon Marchand in which he breaks Michael Phelps’ longest standing world record in the 400 meter IM and Katie Ledecky’s six-peat earning gold in the 800 meter freestyle. There were happy tears and I’m not ashamed!
