Hello!
Welcome to my first ~illustrated~ newsletter — this one’s about looking forward to the little things we can actually stake some hope on right now (which even I can admit is a little cheesy, but we need some cheese in our lives right now! Doctor’s orders!!!!). Hope you guys enjoy (and if you want to see more newsletter like this one in the future, let me know in the comments).
That was fun, no?
Let’s close out with a few recommendations:
Aisha Dee’s song “Ice in My Rosé” which I’ve had on repeat since finding it a few weeks ago (also, for my Freeform fans, Aisha Dee plays Kat on The Bold Type and this fact delights me).
Two graphic memoirs: first, Ellen Forney’s Marbles, which tells the story of her bipolar diagnosis, and coming to terms with how to take care of herself. Second, Lucy Knisley’s Something New, which depicts her thoughts about marriage as she prepares for her own wedding. Both are delightful and beautiful and perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon read.
Speaking of books, my mentor and long time friend Michelle Icard published her newest book, 14 Talks by Age 14, which helps prepare parents for the (you guessed it) fourteen talks they should have with their kids by age fourteen. She’s an incredible writer and person and if this book sounds like it could help you or someone you know, I recommend (I also shared an illustration on Instagram last week detailing all the reasons I love Michelle so dearly).
As always, ending with a TikTok that made me exhale loudly through my nose (which is the being-by-yourself equivalent of laughing out loud).
See you next time (aka March! Which is closer to warmer days!),

Love the illustrated newsletter! The colors are so happy. And I like to read a longer form story than what we get to see on Instagram. I, too, am looking forward to all of these things!
Beautiful newsletter! I love your illustrations and would much rather read a newsletter filled with graphics than a bunch of written copy.
