I am so sorry. Your sweet Bowie is no doubt running in the greenest grass with my beloved Joy, who I lost in August. A quote that has brought me much comfort: “How wonderful it is to be loved by a dog.” 🩷
I am so so sorry to know your dear mate, Bowie has moved on from this earth. What a beautiful soul that dear doggie had. Hoping the endless memories will bring your family comfort.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Haley. My dog turns 14 in September and I worry all the time about the end of her life.
It sounds like Bowie brought a lot of joy to you and your family’s life. When one of my family dogs died, our vet told us that he was chasing squirrels in heaven, which helped us feel better.
I hope Bowie is eating tons of ice cream and being gawky in heaven too.
My dog’s name is Annie and she’s definitely a distinguished lady at her age. She is a beagle/Jack Russell and she’s gotten so much whiter over the past few years. Annie will be eating animal crackers and snuggling on her Sherpa when she makes it to heaven.
Oh no, I'm so sorry. What a lovely tribute to Bowie. There's an audio book called "The Loss of a Pet" that helped me a ton when my first dog Lisa died. She was a mean old lady near the end, but I wasn't prepared for how earth shattering losing her would be.
That audiobook helped me navigate some of the weird feelings that came up. I'd put in headphones, go for a walk, and just listen. It's just a straightforward and validating, not religious at all.
Again, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose such a cool pup like Bowie! Hope that book helps if you need it. I'll leave the link below. <3
Oh Beth, of COURSE you'd have the sweetest recommendation. Thank you! I will absolutely check it out. As a kid I loved "Dog Heaven" by Cynthia Rylant, which I have half a mind to buy for my bookshelf today.
I'm crying with you!! What a wonderful tribute to a best friend. One thing I know for sure is that we don't deserve dogs...but boy am I glad they love us anyway. Sending you a big hug!!!
Sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved pet is never easy--no amount of time is ever "long enough" to have our furry friend in our life. Give Henry and Ziggy extra cuddles. As my dad says, "All dogs go to heaven. Some people do, too."
So sorry to hear about Bowie, such wonderful memories he gave you💕
Thank you so much Esther ❤️
Dogs, and pets in general, are part of our hearts. Best friends. Soul dogs. I'm so sorry that you lost Bowie.
thank you so much <3
An incredible tribute. You captured Bowie perfectly. My heart aches with yours.
He loooooved you <3

So sorry. Completely feel you.

Thank you! Lucky to have a camera roll full of his sweet face.
Losing a pet is so awful. Thank you for sharing these reminiscences Haley. Bowie was a lovely fellow. Hope you are managing okay.
He was the dapperest of dogs! Thank you so much for your kind words.
So so sorry, Haley. Sending you hugs and love. Bowie was such a lucky pup and with the best name!
the BEST name. Thank you, Sam <3

14! What a stately boy! It's so hard to watch them age, but also the luckiest to have as much time with them. Hope you enjoy every snuggle.
And he is eating SO much ice cream. :)

Oops—misread. A distinguished lady indeed. Annie sounds like a gift!
That’s okay! She has quite the closet of dresses because people usually assume she’s a boy.😂
A beautiful tribute my friend <3
thanks maeve <3333

Your dad is a smart, smart human!
